Event Introduction
On October 23, 2023, the "China-Europe IoT Industry Cooperation Negotiation Conference" was successfully held at the EU Project Innovation Center (Wuxi), under the guidance of the Wuxi Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Wuxi National High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee, and hosted by the Wuxi High-tech Zone Science and Technology Innovation Promotion Center, the Sino-European Industrial Innovation Zone (Meicun Street), and the EU Project Innovation Center. As one of the important supporting activities of the World Internet of Things Exposition, the negotiation conference was themed "Connecting the IoT World, Seeking Cooperation Together," aiming to build a communication platform to effectively promote trade, investment, and technological cooperation between Chinese and European IoT enterprises and related institutions.
Zhu Xiaofeng, member of the Party Working Committee of Wuxi High-tech Zone and member of the Standing Committee of the Xinwu District Committee, attended the meeting and mentioned in his speech that Wuxi is a city with a thriving Internet of Things (IoT) industry, and he looks forward to the negotiation conference promoting technical exchanges and cooperation between China and Europe in the IoT industry. Dai Yiling, director of the EU Project Innovation Center, said in her speech that she hopes to facilitate more Sino-European projects to blossom and bear fruit in the high-tech zone.
Mark Talago, chairman of the World IoT Solutions Conference, delivered a speech outlining the vision for cooperation between the conference, the EU Project Innovation Center, and Wuxi High-tech Zone, and awarded the title of "China Promotion Ambassador of the World IoT Solutions Conference" to the EU Project Innovation Center. Liu Haitao, president of the Wuxi IoT Industry Research Institute, introduced in his speech that Wuxi, as the capital of IoT, has become the forefront of China's IoT industry development. Dr. Raffaele Riva, Executive President of Austria's SILKROAD 4.0, as well as representatives from the District Industry and Information Technology Bureau, the District Science and Innovation Center, the Wuxi Taihu Science and Technology Park Management Office, and the District Federation of Industry and Commerce, also attended the meeting.
Enhancing Sino-European in-depth exchanges, the convergence of development trends is irresistible:
Zhu Dongqing, the Secretary of the Party Committee of Meicun Street, promoted the Sino-European Industrial Innovation Zone to the Chinese and foreign participants, implementing the national "dual-circulation" strategy, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and innovation factors from the European Union, and striving to build an international high-end industrial cooperation development zone. Subsequently, Gong Lvbing, Deputy General Manager of Chinese enterprise representative Anjie IoT, and Mohamed Wahba, the Innovation Project Leader of Egyptian enterprise Elsewedy Electric, conducted corporate project roadshows respectively.
The final session of the conference featured project matching and negotiations between Chinese and foreign enterprises, primarily focusing on areas such as telecommunication engineering, software development, electrical products, data monitoring, smart infrastructure, and agri-food. It attracted the participation of 33 foreign enterprises and 26 Chinese enterprises, organized 48 offline and online matchmaking sessions, and resulted in 20 cooperation intentions being reached.
In the future, the EU Project Innovation Center will actively participate in the construction of the "Sino-European Industrial Innovation Zone" while also contributing to the vigorous development of the IoT industry platform.
