On May 15, 2024, a delegation of Wuxi enterprises from various IoT fields, including industrial internet, smart sensors, smart homes, smart cities, smart manufacturing, and cloud computing, organized and led by the Wuxi EU Project Innovation Center, successfully arrived in Germany.

 From May 15 to 17, under the meticulous arrangements of the center, the enterprise delegation was delighted and inspired at every step, from the CWIEME Berlin, an exhibition on electromagnetic coils, to the ARENA2036 Future Automotive Industry Showcase in Stuttgart, and finally to the Digital Twin Laboratory at Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering.

Upon arrival in the afternoon of May 15th, the enterprise delegation quickly immersed themselves in the grand event of electromagnetic coils, motors, transformer manufacturing and rewinding, and electrical insulation. They engaged in face-to-face exchanges with top exhibitors such as EBM, Unimak, and EMC. Focusing on the latest developments in core components for smart manufacturing, they not only paid close attention to the innovative highlights of the products and technologies showcased by the exhibitors but also conducted in-depth discussions on the implementation of cutting-edge products in the Chinese market and the upstream and downstream supply chain systems.

On the morning of May 16th, the enterprise delegation visited the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) and the German Trade and Invest (GTAI), the national agency that provided a comprehensive insight into the industrial distribution and development trends across Germany. Based on a detailed analysis of industry data and predictions of future industry trends, the agency delved into the legal policies and talent recruitment strategies of Germany, presenting entrepreneurs with a broad international perspective. Furthermore, the GTAI shared insights into cutting-edge technologies and market dynamics in the electronics and robotics sectors in Germany, providing solid support and guidance for Wuxi enterprises to enter international markets in the future.

Subsequently, at the Drivery Automotive Industry Incubation Platform, entrepreneurs witnessed a vibrant and innovative ecosystem. Drivery connects hundreds of startups specializing in robotics, 3D printing, and electric vehicle components with industry leaders such as Honda, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla. By providing financing, office space, and matchmaking services to startups, it bridges the upstream and downstream industries, transforming countless innovative ideas into practical business solutions. Entrepreneurs expressed their agreement that this platform's development model continuously stimulates industry innovation, injecting a steady stream of vitality into vertical fields.

German New Materials Cluster Symposium: Cross-border Collaboration and Innovative Applications

In the afternoon, entrepreneurs gathered at the industrial sharing symposium of the German New Materials Cluster and had in-depth discussions with experts from the Humboldt Innovation Center on financing strategies, project guidance, and talent development paths for startups, jointly exploring the possibilities of Chinese enterprises connecting to the Internet. At the same time, a comparative analysis was conducted with experts from the Berlin Optics and Photonics Cluster on the development of Sino-German clusters in areas such as lasers and sensor photonics. Furthermore, Serino Tech Sensor Company showcased the outstanding performance of its Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) sensor technology in terms of price, accuracy, and environmental protection levels. Entrepreneurs enthusiastically discussed the vast application scenarios of this technology in areas such as smartphones, logistics equipment, and smart home appliances.

Stuttgart ARENA2036: Exploring the IoT in the Future Automotive Industry

On May 17th, the enterprise delegation arrived in Stuttgart, the city of German industry and innovation. The ARENA2036 Future Automotive Factory not only symbolizes the glorious 150-year history of the automobile's birth but also heralds the future leadership position in the automotive and industrial technology sectors. During the visit, ARENA2036 showcased the real-time application of sensor technology on the production line, accurately capturing data and optimizing production processes. At the same time, the efficient collaboration and high-precision operation of special industrial robot systems further demonstrated the integration of industrial automation and intelligence. Additionally, the intelligent spatial design of the Future Automotive Factory helped entrepreneurs gain a clearer understanding of the IoT application scenarios in the future manufacturing mode of the automotive industry.

Following that, the enterprise delegation visited the Digital Twin Research Laboratory and Smart Manufacturing Laboratory of the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering, deeply feeling the innovative power of combining research with corporate needs and experiencing firsthand the cutting-edge charm of digital twin technology. During the afternoon symposium, entrepreneurs engaged in in-depth discussions with scientists from the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering. Both sides explored ways to utilize digital twin technology to enhance manufacturing productivity by precisely controlling critical process nodes and monitoring production processes in real-time, providing an early warning mechanism for capacity management. Additionally, they discussed the profit model of data sharing platforms and the application potential of visual human flow monitoring systems in museums, healthcare, and elderly care.
