To strengthen the exchange and cooperation of various development factors such as information, technology, and talent between Mianyang Science and Technology City and the EU, the EU Project Innovation Center's Technology City Branch Center was unveiled in the Science and Innovation Zone of Mianyang City on May 11.
In 2006, with the support of the bilateral governments of China and the EU, the EU Project Innovation Center was established. The EU Project Innovation Center boasts 680 partner organizations, including economic development agencies, chambers of commerce and industry, R&D institutions, universities, research centers, and innovation centers from 54 countries worldwide, as well as an innovative resource database of over 1 million growing small and medium-sized enterprises. The EU Project Innovation Center has played a significant role in promoting technological innovation and transfer between enterprises, science and technology parks, and industrial clusters in the western region, especially in Sichuan, and EU member states.
To expand the opening-up and cooperation of Mianyang Science and Technology City and vigorously implement the "going out and bringing in" strategy, Mianyang established the Science and Technology City International Enterprise Incubator in the Science and Innovation Zone in 2015. "As a key project of the International Enterprise Incubator, the EU Project Innovation Center's Technology City Branch Center will expand cooperation between Mianyang and the EU in investment, trade, and technology, help Mianyang enterprises access international markets, and promote the settlement of high-end industries and high-level talents from the EU in Mianyang," said Dai Yiling, Director of the EU Project Innovation Center.
